Con música punk, rock and roll Ska, cumbia, reggae y justamente “vulgar”, El Colectivo Sabinas, conformado en LA, Santa Ana, y Anaheim se denomina como un grupo de mujeres de color protagonistas de su propia creación musical y conceptos propios. Su letra subversiva es una expresión de las realidades como mujeres de color, queer, indocumentadas, e indígenas en esta sociedad que favorece lo contrario y busca aplacar nuestras voces socialmente tanto como económicamente . Como músicas/ músicos entendemos que nuestro trabajo no es la solución o el fin a este estado racista, clasista, homofóbico, transfóbico, y todo lo que abarca esta plataforma fascista, si no es una aportación a la lucha popular contra las opresiones e injusticias. De tal manera usamos nuestra música como una herramienta para invitar a nuestras abuelas, madres, hermanas, hijas, jovencitas y toda aquella que se identifique como mujer, a levantarse y a retomar espacios donde nuestras demandas y necesidades sean recreadas por nosotras sin pedir permiso.

With Ska, Punk, Reggae rock and roll, cumbia and justly “vulgar” music, El Colectivo Sabinas, formed in LA, Santa Ana and Anaheim, is a group of womyn of color who are the protagonists of their own concepts and musical creation. Our subversive sound and lyrics is an expression of the reality we live as womyn of color, queer, undocumented and unafraid, and as indigenous womyn in a society that favors the opposite and seeks to silence our voices socially and economically. As musicians we understand that our job is not the answer to the socioeconomic struggles that we as people of color live in, rather, we see it as a contribute to the people of color movements that help and teach self-sustainability and self-empowerment. Using our music as a tool of contribution we also invite our grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and all who identify as womyn of color to stand together to create and to take back our spaces, which allow us to organize and grow collectively as a community
